What is the benefit of using Clay Diffusers?

How do I remove the stains from my ornamental clay diffusers?

To take out the oil stains from the clay, you need to soak it in hot water to let the oil come out of it. But in between, you need to keep changing the hot water until there is no oil coming out anymore. After which, please also soak with the cleaning solution.Do note that the number of times that you need to repeat changing the hot water until the all essential oil comes out will depend on how long you have been using the clay. If the stain has been in the clay for some time already, it will be a bit longer to take it off. This process also cannot totally get rid of the stains and bring back the clay diffuser to its state when it's new.For some of our customers, they would change into a new ornamental diffuser after a year of use.

Can I change the scent after I finished the oil that came with my diffuser?

Changing the scent for your clay diffuser is possible but only applicable for the first attempt, and to clay pieces that have only absorbed oil for less than a month. Subsequent switches lower the effectiveness of diffusion. Over time, oils are absorbed into the core part of the porous ceramic and it will be very challenging to execute a thorough scent change. Please note that it will not be possible to remove any oil-induced discolouration left on the clay.To Perform a Scent Change:Immerse the entire part of ceramic piece into a deep bowl of boiling hot water.Leave the ceramic piece to soak (at least 2 hours for small ceramic pieces; at least 6-8 hours for bigger ceramic pieces.) The essential oils present in the ceramic piece will be released into the boiling water when submerged.Repeat Step 1 with a fresh bowl of boiling hot water until the scent in the ceramic piece is fully faded.Remove the ceramic piece from the water and leave it in the open to dry completelyCleanse the case container/vase with Cleaning Solution (available for sale in-stores).Fill in your diffuser with the new oil and carefully place on the dried ceramic piece onto the mouth of the base container. Ensure that the end tip of the ceramic piece is soaked in the new diffuser oil to allow initial absorption for diffusion. Note: We do not recommend changing of scent for more than twice for the same ceramic piece as this might result in a mixture of scents depending on the remains of the original scent left in the ceramic piece.The process above may result in the following:The colour of the ceramic piece is subject to changes due to the natural colouring properties of the selected essential oils present in the diffuser oil.The duration required for the fading of the original scent in ceramic piece (submerged in boiling water) depends on: - the concentration intensity of the essential oils; - the size of the ceramic piece and; - total period of time this piece of ceramic has been used in the previous scent (long period of usage in previous scent = longer time required for the fading of scent in water).

What is the Diffusion Rate for the 45ml?

For a 45ml volume, the initial scent release begins within 5–14 days, depending on the clay design. Subsequent absorption periods may extend to 3–4 weeks.Factors such as hot, dry weather, air conditioning, or draughts may alter the evaporation rate. Oil absorption in the clay diffuser can vary due to environmental and usage conditions, which may result in subtle variations in the clay’s colour uniformity. These natural differences do not affect the product’s quality or performance.

How To Use

Unscrew and remove the metal cap from the bottle.
Remove the original stopper and replace it with the provided diffuser stopper.
Securely screw the metal cap back onto the bottle.
Insert the ornament clay into the centre opening of the bottle.
Allow the clay to absorb the diffuser oil for 5–7 days.
Once fully absorbed, the clay ornament will naturally diffuse the scent throughout your space.

Safety Instructions

Keep the diffuser out of reach of children and pets. Avoid placing it near smoke, open flames, or plastic surfaces such as car consoles, as essential oils may damage plastics.

Made with 100% pure plant-derived essential oils, the diffuser oil may contain natural sediments. Colour variations may occur due to natural harvest differences and do not affect product quality or performance. Handle with care to maintain optimal scent diffusion and preserve the clay’s condition.

To perform a scent change, follow the HYSSES Scent Change Guide carefully. Improper handling may affect scent retention and diffuser performance.

Please note that this product is not covered under warranty, and only initial scent changes are permitted when following the recommended guide.

Scent Change

Scent changes are recommended only within the first month of use. Subsequent changes may affect the clay’s absorption ability and reduce diffusion performance. Natural oil staining or discolouration may occur and cannot be removed.

Soak the clay in warm water and replace with fresh warm water every 30 minutes until no further oil surfaces from the clay (this may take 2–8 hours).
Soak the clay in a cleaning solution for a final 30–60 minutes.
Allow the clay to dry completely under sunlight for several days before reuse.
Ensure the clay is fully dry before adding a new diffuser oil, as retained moisture may affect absorption and scent diffusion.
